On
a dry but overcast May morning, the Sunday of the Spring Bank
Holiday weekend, some 167 vintage tractors gathered at Wenhaston
for the 9th East Suffolk Vintage Tractor Run. The event started
and finished on land at Church Farm, Wenhaston (by kind permission
of Roger Desborough) and was again a well-organised event bringing
pleasure to many and much needed funds to this year’s
beneficiaries.

The
2007 route featured a lunch stop in Cratfield, passing
through Bramfield, Walpole, Sibton, Heveningham and Huntingfield
along the way. The vintage tractors looked splendid, some
bedecked with balloons and flags, some towing trailers
so that the family could come along for the ride. As they
drove along their way, along country roads and lanes, they
were greeted enthusiastically by other road-users and sight-seers.
