We own two lovely apartments in a hotel in Madeira on an interval-ownership basis and we would be happy to let either of them when we are not wanting to stay there ourselves.The next availability is for November 2008. THE APARTMENTS
Apartment 710 occupies the entire 8th floor, with balconies front & rear, and is available for the two weeks commencing Monday 9th March and Monday 16th March 2009. Price £390 per week.
There is a wide
choice of flights available from various UK airports on Mondays, and
we have paid anything from £149 to £186 return from Gatwick.
I have been quoted £114.93 return (inclusive of taxes) for 10th
-17th March 2008, which would result in a combined flight and apartment
cost of £310
each for two people (£245 each for three, or about £212
for four sharing the apartment). This compares very favourably with "package
tour" prices for ordinary bedrooms
at many hotels which are not on the seafront, and not to be confused with
our superior hotel apartments. We would also be pleased to tell you about local restaurants and facilities, plus plenty more about the delightful island of Madeira. Email

INTERESTED IN BUYING? As we now own a house abroad, we are considering selling two of our weeks at The Royal Orchid, and they would represent excellent value for holidays at this lovely resort, or for exchanges throughout the world - forever - with just the very reasonable annual maintenance charge to pay. It is extremely rare for time-share ownership not to be limited to less than thirty years. We always consider the hotel room, or in our case the spacious apartment, makes or breaks a holiday. Time shares have gained a dubious reputation in some quarters, due to the antics of some disreputable operators, but Portuguese law is very strict on the subject, and the overwhelming majority of owners find the system ideal. This is especially so if, as in our case, they have bought re-sale weeks at a fraction of their original prices, from personal choice, without any outside influence. Rooms and apartments in new developments are still being sold at high prices prior to completion of the buildings and even before building has started! If you should decide to rent an apartment from us and subsequently decide to buy a week or more, we would refund your holiday rental. At least you should bear in mind the availability of our apartments if attanding a time share sales promotion! Susan
