This report is in two versions - this page with small photos or a slideshow with larger photos and captions on individual pages. Click on a picture to see a bigger version.

The fourth Halesworth Thoroughfair was held in bright sunshine once again. The crowds turned out in force for what is now an established highlight of the Halesworth calendar - despite strong competition this year from the World Cup Final!
The Hog roast from Cozies of Great Yarmouth (01493 651065) was very popular once again and as you can see the hog was half gone within a couple of hours!
An even bigger stall than usual from Athena Foods of Leiston (tel/fax 01728 833605) who supply a wide range of Greek foods to the wholesale market. As ever they had an impressive selection of olives and other Greek specialities on display and were doing a roaring trade.
The Leiston Beekeepers attended with a range of bee related merchandise and some honey..
..they even brought a demonstration beehive with them. The hive has glass sides front and back and is only one frame deep so you can clearly see all the activity. An expert was on hand to provide a guided tour!
Will Berry from Linstead is our own local octagenarian basket maker. His son now manages the business but Will can still make a good basket and loves to demonstrate his skills. The willow they use is grown on their own farm.
These gorgeous cards are hand made in a women's cooperative in Southern India in a "sangham" set up by "The Friends of The Banyan Tree" (a sub-committee of HHI)
Based at Oak Hollow, Church View, Holton, Halesworth (email Pmbaker@tesco.net) The Friends of the Banyan Tree has commenced working in several villages arounf Nedumangad in Kerala in southern India. In these villages they are supporting "sanghams" providing work in craft and cottage industries. The goods on display in this stall are produced in these village based industries.
Our friends from our German twin town Eitorf were once again on hand to provide hot Bratwurst and cold "Kolsch" beer. The beer is a speciality of their region and is always very popular served cold in the traditional glasses.
This young lady seems overawed by the range of choice of chutneys, pickles and preserves offered by Carol Stoneham of Maldon (01621 854700)
Mollin Madizwa of Shambakotsi Crafts of Harare, Zimbabwe (shambakotsi@yahoo.com) had a superb collection of African crafts and textiles. There were printed textiles, handmade jewellery and wood and soapstone carvings.
Here Mollin displays one of her collection of colourful printed textiles that were the highlight of her collection.
Crystal Waters from Lowestoft (01502 586866) once again had a colourful and mouthwatering display of seafoods of all kinds
James Hollway and cast members of the Mouth Youth Theatre were out in costume to promote their next production - A Midsummer Night's Dream. This unusual production, described as "An uncut comedy drama where The Fab Four meet Shakespeare right on!" will be staged in the Town Park from Tuesday 9th July to Saturday 13th July - full details on the Blythweb Calendar
Simply Soap were doing a steady trade in their handmade soaps. An ever popular stall Simply Soap hjave been to everyThoroughfair and we make a point to stock up with this very special soap every year.
Here are three examples of their soap - I wish I could convey the subtle, natural scents of these soaps all made from natural ingredients and with no artificial scents or colours added.
Liz Matthews of Krafty Kards had an excellent range of handmade greeting cards of all kinds. The interesting and colourful designs included a super hedgehog and..
..this romantic card complete with a tiny rose! Krafty Kards can be contacted on 01986 783922.

Finally an old favourite - Laurel Farm Herbs of Yoxford were here with their amazing collection of herbs and a wide selection of thymes. Chris Seagon has an encylcopeadic knowledge of his business and is a mine of fascinating information about herbs and especially thyme..
..all the thyme plants on his stall were attracting attention from the local bees who must have thought they were in heaven.
