Whilst listening to Donald Fagen’s Nightfly Album in the spring of 2008 a friend of Bob Cushing suggested that he should form a Steely Dan tribute band. Having been a life long admirer of Becker and Fagen’s music Bob decided to accept the challenge and over the following year assembled a line-up of top musicians capable of doing justice to this ‘involved’ music. As Bob comments ‘I explained to everyone beforehand that we would either do this right or not at all’
Steemy Dan thus became one of only a few bands in the UK to even attempt playing these beautifully crafted tunes with their wonderful amalgam of styles and genres.
