Venue: The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth IP19 8BY link
Director Sean Baker, 2017, USA, 112 mins, with Brooklynn Kimberly Prince, Bria Vinaite, Christopher Rivera, Valeria Cotto.
Mooney is six years old and lives with her mother in The Magic Castle, a motel in Kissimmee, Florida. For Mooney and her friends it's one big fantastic, technicoloured fairytale but for her mother Halley, a dancer struggling to pay the rent, their situation is far from rosy. Seen through the eyes of the children it's a roller-coaster of joy and lost innocence as reality breaks into their dream world - 'a thrillingly vibrant film' beautifully shot in glorious colour.
