Cinema @ The Cut - ARRIVAL (12A)

Venue: The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth IP19 8BY link
Director Denis Villeneneuve, 2016, USA, 118 mins, with Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Forest Witaker, Michael Stuhlbarg.
It’s great to find a sci-fi movie as good as this one, described as ‘dreamy, freaky, audacious.‘ Linguist Dr. Louise Banks finds herself caught up in an effort to communicate with the aliens inside 12 spaceships that have landed across the planet. It’s all about the human condition, how we choose to approach the unknown and whether we accept it. The brilliant use of music and visual effects both combine to create a film that is more subtle than most examples of its kind.
Ticket Details: Admission at door £5, Cinema Member £4
