Heritage Open Days in Halesworth

Taking place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th. St.Mary's church will be open for tours, displays, information and refreshments and other buildings and houses, many normally not open to the public, will offer tours and will open their doors. Steeple End Art Gallery will host a special exhibition inspired by Sir Joseph Hooker. Tickets available from The Cut.

Heritage Open Days in Halesworth

Taking place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September. This weekend is Halesworth’s second involvement in this 20 year old national event. [www.heritageopendays.org] Box office open from 10am-2pm for free tickets for admission to private homes opening in town. Numbers limited.

Built as a maltings in the early 19th century, The Cut will host a number of events on Saturday and Sunday, including the 'Malt Experience' which will be open to all between 10am and 4pm both days as part of the Heritage Weekend.

Heritage Open Day at Walpole Old Chapel

Open 8th, 9th and 10th September (nb different opening times daily). Today is also the annual Suffolk Historic Churches Trust annual bike ride, with cyclists being sponsored to visit places of worship throughout the county.

Reydon Scarecrow Trail 2017

Venue: Village Hall, Lowestoft Road, Reydon near Southwold IP18 6RF link
Taking place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th. Entry forms available at Barbrooks Stores, Reydon. All money raised will go to the Reydon Christmas Lights Committee. For help with creating a scarecrow contact Brenda (below), who will be very happy to advise you! Refreshments will be available throughout the weekend in the Village Hall, from 11am – 5pm.

Tour of Southwold Lighthouse

Organised by: Southwold Millennium Foundation
Venue: Southwold Lighthouse, Stradbroke Road, Southwold IP18 6LW link
Tours of Southwold Lighthouse take place on selected dates between April and October and are organised by Southwold Millennium Foundation under licence from the Corporation of Trinity House. PLEASE NOTE minimum height requirement of 1.1 metres tall to climb the tower. Last tour today is at 3:30pm. NB-Please telephone in advance for group bookings of ten or more people.

Emma Woodhouse has the world at her fingertips. Life seems pretty good – if a bit boring – and so Emma decides to spice things up by taking on a protégé, Harriet Smith.
