Magic of Minsmere Weekday Wildlife Walk

Never been to Minsmere before? Then this is the walk for you! With over 5700 recorded species and a wealth of history and archaeological highlights at Minsmere, there is so much to discover. Our friendly and knowledgeable RSPB guides will take you through the sights and sounds to be enjoyed at this time of year. Open Day at STEAMWORKS

The SteamWorks site in Blyth Road lies adjacent to the 1879 Southwold Railway trackbed and close to the site of Southwold Station. Just ten minutes' walk from the town centre, it is where The Southwold Railway Trust volunteers are working on locomotives and rolling stock, with the aim of re-creating the experience of travelling on the 3-foot gauge Southwold Railway (operated 1879-1929).
Open Days are taking place on selected dates between 14th July and 2nd September - come and see how this site is being transformed, the 3-foot gauge steam engine Scaldwell, the Blyth Valley Light Railway (a 7.25 inch railway), and learn more of what the Trust is achieving. Refreshments available. Shop. All Welcome.

TONY SCHUR : FROM CAM TO THE ZAMBEZI

An illustrated talk by Tony Schur who returned to Zambia in 2013 having served there in the Colonial Service prior to independence.
This resulted in his book 'From the Cam to the Zambezi'. His talk is based upon events from the book. Tony lives in Suffolk and is a member of his local U3A.
