CONSTRUCTING A NEW FUTURE THROUGH ART: RADICAL RUSSIA 1910 - 1932. The political revolution of 1917 mirrored a visual revolution. Based on Nikolai Leskov’s 1865 novel. This Lady Macbeth, superbly played by Florence Pugh, is like her
namesake, ruthless in pursuing her own desires. Forced into a loveless marriage with a morose husband who is often absent she discovers Sebastian, a worker on the estate. From that moment she is willing to destroy anyone or anything that threatens to thwart her. A five star, subversive, sexy film full of surprises.
