A Day on the Southwold Railway

New for 2018. Please check for start time. A day-long guided walk along the Southwold Railway trackbed from Wenhaston to Southwold.
Parking available at the Southwold Railway Trust's station site at Wenhaston (at Blyford Lane, approached from Blyford Church/Queen's Head pub).
A led walk from Wenhaston station site along restored trackbed to Blythburgh, stopping there at the White Hart for lunch, and then walking on to Southwold, for tea at SRT's Steamworks site.
Other dates available are 22nd July, 5th August and 19th August.

The Antiques and Collectors Fair

Venue: Village Hall, London Road, Wrentham NR34 7HJ
“The Antiques and Collectors Fair” taking place at THE VILLAGE HALL, London Road in WRENTHAM is a busy well supported fair that attracts local and visiting customers. With up to 40 dealers, the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. One gets the feeling that, for some, it represents a fun outing, an hour or so spent browsing the stalls and picking up something appealing to take home. While many vendors specialise in particular wares, others offer an eclectic mix, making the prospect of an interesting find at a reasonable price a strong one. Be prepared to spend a while here, as it will take at least that long to get a good look at the huge variety and scope of what is on offer– china and pottery, figurines, silver, glassware, paintings, furniture, books, coins, medals, jewellery, militaria, etc. etc also available is a superb mixture of sandwiches, tea & filter coffee, & delicious cakes served in “The Vintage Cafe”. "COME ALONG & ENJOY"
This Fair helps support Pact Animal Sanctuary therefore "Help us - Help Them".

Birds for beginners on Sunday at RSPB Minsmere

Many people have begun birdwatching at Minsmere over the last 70 years. Our RSPB guides will take you through all the steps for bird identification as well as showing you how to use binoculars and which field guides are best for you. They’ll then help you to spot some the reserve’s seasonal highlights. No previous experience needed. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars or ask at reception about loaning a pair for the day. Tours of Southwold Lighthouse

Organised by: Southwold Millennium Foundation
Venue: Southwold Lighthouse, Stradbroke Road, Southwold IP18 6LW link
Built in 1887 and standing 31 metres high Southwold Lighthouse is one of only ten lighthouses which Trinity House open to the public. Tours take place on selected dates March to October inclusive and are organised under licence by Southwold Millennium Foundation. Note that there is a MINIMUM HEIGHT restriction of 1.1 metres tall to climb the tower. Last tour commences 30 minutes before closing time.
Enquire in advance for tour bookings by schools, special interest groups and group bookings of ten or more people.

HOFFMEISTER ENSEMBLE

The Hoffmeister Ensemble is named after the 18th century composer and music publisher, Franz Anton von Hoffmeister. Its members are noted chamber music players and enjoy exploring a varied repertoire. Jane Faulkner – violin, Frank Cliff – viola, Ursula Pank – cello, Mary Howard – piano. Today's programme features works by Schubert and Mozart.
