“Where are you, my love?”
Sarah and Albert are tenant farmers in Suffolk, separated by war. Sarah is a strong and brave young woman, but her greatest fear is losing Albert. Albert too is strong and brave, but now his greatest fear is the dark. This is their story based on real life events in 1917 of a Suffolk farming family, written by their relatives 100 years later. Inspired by letters from a Gunnery Officer to his wife and enriched by poetry and song, this powerful and touching performance celebrates the extraordinary endurance of the human spirit.
