Tours of Southwold Lighthouse

Venue: Southwold Lighthouse, Stradbroke Road, Southwold IP18 6LW link
Built in 1887 and standing 31 metres high Southwold Lighthouse is one of only ten lighthouses which Trinity House open to the public. Tours take place on selected dates March to October inclusive and are organised under licence by Southwold Millennium Foundation. Note that there is a MINIMUM HEIGHT restriction of 1.1 metres tall to climb the tower. Last tour commences 30 minutes before closing time.
Enquire in advance for tour bookings by schools, special interest groups and group bookings of ten or more people.

Yakety Yak Presents : SUFFRAGETTE!

A new musical play from Yakety Yak, young actors company.
Camilla the music hall performer, Millicent Garret Fawcett, Princess Sophia Duleep Singh, Violet the mill worker, Kitty Marshall, Emmeline Pankhurst’s underground bodyguard and Christabel Pankhurst, all suffragists and suffragettes caught up in the bitter struggle for women’s votes. In the centenary of women’s partial suffrage, we honour their stories in a musical extravaganza that tells of the courage, love, and determination to win a world fit for our daughters to live in. Directed by Agnes Lillis, produced by Mary Hunt, written by Bel Greenwood, lyrics and music by Nick Murray Brown, performed by an exceptional all female cast.
