Wild things at Halloween at RSPB Minsmere

Taking place Saturday 20 October to Sunday 28 October. There are some wonderfully Wildthings lurking in the woods this October. Discover our new autumn trail and meet the creatures of the woodland, from giant spider webs to hibernating hedgehogs. Be wise or bewildered as you venture along our secret forest path, solving riddles along the way. Snuggle up in our family story circle and listen to an autumnal nature tale – make sure to ask in reception for story times. Free self-guided activity

Creepy craft workshop at RSPB Minsmere

Taking place Monday 22 October to Friday 26 October. Our creepy craft workshop will get you in the mood for Halloween. Make sure to pop into the Discovery Centre where you can make and take home some spooky natural art. No booking required.

Tours of Southwold Lighthouse

Venue: Southwold Lighthouse, Stradbroke Road, Southwold IP18 6LW link
Built in 1887 and standing 31 metres high Southwold Lighthouse is one of only ten lighthouses which Trinity House open to the public. Tours take place on selected dates March to October inclusive and are organised under licence by Southwold Millennium Foundation. Note that there is a MINIMUM HEIGHT restriction of 1.1 metres tall to climb the tower. Last tour commences 30 minutes before closing time. CLOSED FOR LUNCH 1pm-2pm.
Enquire in advance for tour bookings by schools, special interest groups and group bookings of ten or more people.
Ticket Details: Adult £4, child £3 (minimum height 1.1 metres). Family Ticket for 2 adults and up to 3 children £12

Free Drop In on Sutton Hoo Half Term Fun, with Southwold Library

Drop-in from 11.00am-3.00pm. As work gets underway on a £4million project to transform this world famous National Trust site, Sutton Hoo is taking to the road. Visit our free roadshow to view Sutton Hoo replicas and displays. Speak to Sutton Hoo staff and volunteers.
Sutton Hoo-themed activities for children: Dress up as an Anglo-Saxon, Anglo-Saxon replicas, Wax Crayon Rubbings and Make a paper shield.

Halesworth Arts Festival October 13-28 Film Event

With: Cézanne - portraits of a life. Exhibition on Screen presents a film from the National Portrait Gallery London, Musée d’Orsay Paris & National Gallery of Art Washington DC. With correspondence from the artist himself, the film takes audiences beyond the exhibition to the places Cézanne lived and worked and sheds light on an artist who is perhaps the least known of all the impressionists – until now.

Halesworth Arts Festival is a non profit making charity and is run by volunteers, both on the organising committee and at the venues. Now a major force in the arts in North Suffolk, it attracts capacity crowds every October, who come for the chance to see top quality artists in small, intimate surroundings.
