Wild things at Halloween at RSPB Minsmere

Taking place Saturday 20 October to Sunday 28 October. There are some wonderfully Wildthings lurking in the woods this October. Discover our new autumn trail and meet the creatures of the woodland, from giant spider webs to hibernating hedgehogs. Be wise or bewildered as you venture along our secret forest path, solving riddles along the way. Snuggle up in our family story circle and listen to an autumnal nature tale – make sure to ask in reception for story times. Free self-guided activity

Tours of Southwold Lighthouse

Venue: Southwold Lighthouse, Stradbroke Road, Southwold IP18 6LW link
Built in 1887 and standing 31 metres high Southwold Lighthouse is one of only ten lighthouses which Trinity House open to the public. Tours take place on selected dates March to October inclusive and are organised under licence by Southwold Millennium Foundation. Note that there is a MINIMUM HEIGHT restriction of 1.1 metres tall to climb the tower. Last tour commences 30 minutes before closing time. CLOSED FOR LUNCH 1pm-2pm.
Enquire in advance for tour bookings by schools, special interest groups and group bookings of ten or more people.

Halesworth Arts Festival is a non profit making charity and is run by volunteers, both on the organising committee and at the venues. Now a major force in the arts in North Suffolk, it attracts capacity crowds every October, who come for the chance to see top quality artists in small, intimate surroundings.
This evening - Edward Lear: Landscapes & Wildlife. An illustrated talk by Jenny Uglow to accompany the Festival's exhibition. She will discuss her latest book, Mr Lear: A Life of Art and Nonsense, an exploration of the life and work of celebrated poet, artist and musician, Edward Lear.
