3 Star Enjoy England Self Catering AwardHorseshoe Cottage is a great holiday location from which to experience the delights of Southwold. As you step out of the front door you can turn right for the open spaces of Southwold Common or turn left for South Green, Gun Hill and the Beach. There is also easy level access to Southwold's shops, tea rooms, pubs and Town facilities.

From a recessed entrance (with horseshoe on the wall) the front door opens into a wide and welcoming parquet floored hallway with understairs cupboard. The wall barometer will keep you informed of the likely weather during your stay and the hall table is handy for keys. Stairs lead up.

Throughout Horseshoe Cottage there is interesting artwork and pictures displayed. The property is well-kept and decorated. Heating is by night storage heaters with additional electric heaters. High ceilings and comfortable furnishings make this a relaxing base from which to explore Southwold.

Lounge

Fully carpeted with two double glazed windows both overlooking Lorne Road. Comfortable seating. Coffee table, PanasonicTV standing on triple glass shelf unit which also houses the Panasonic VHS & DVD player. Side table. A well lit room with centre light, standard lamp and two side lamps.

Dining Room

Fully carpeted with two windows both overlooking courtyard. Pine table and seating for six. Modern pine sideboard, bookcase, wheeled trolley and armchair. Well lit with centre light and two side lamps.

Kitchen

Glazed door from hallway. Range of units and wall cupboards gives plenty of storage space. Lit by spot lights. Kitchen table and two chairs. Electric oven with extractor hood. Coffee maker, microwave oven, double toaster, knife block, crockery and cutlery. Large fridge/freezer. Dishwasher. One and a half bowl sink. Door to courtyard.

Courtyard

Courtyard with recycling bins. Fully enclosed and gated. Useful access to alleyway leading to Lorne Road. Brick outbuilding housing WC and incorporating outhouse with Hotpoint tumble dryer, washing machine, garden chairs and storage for beach items.

Upstairs

Stairs, landings and bedrooms are all carpeted.
Stairs lead up from the hall to landing, with window. Airing cupboard and other storage cupboards.

Bath with shower attachment plus separate shower over. Wash basin with mirror over plus light and shaver unit. Heated towel rail. Wall heater. Bathroom cabinet.

Two steps up to second landing off which is a wet room comprising shower with curtain vanity unit (h+c) and WC all with vinyl non-slip flooring, heated towel rail, and extractor fan.

Window overlooking Lorne Road and from which you can see the sea off to one side. Two single beds each with bedside light, pine furniture including wardrobe unit and chest of drawers. Chair. Long mirror.

Window overlooking Lorne Road and from which you can see the sea off to one side. Two single beds each with bedside table and light, pine furniture including wardrobe unit and chest of drawers with mirror over. Additional larger chest of drawers with top mirror.

Double Bedroom

Two sash windows overlooking Southwold rooftops towards Market Place and High Street. Double bed with pine side tables and lamps. Two chairs and small table at window. Long pine storage chest chest with mirror over, large pine double wardrobe and large chest of drawers with mirror unit. In recess there is a wash basin with mirror and shelf over plus light and shaver unit.
