special morning of poetry and prose in the woodlands at
Thorington, presented by Rory Kinnear. "The intelligence of
the flower is the intelligence of the world.” So wrote
Maurice Maeterlinck in his 1907 essay on the natural and
instinctive wisdom of flowers. In Toward the Light, celebrated
actor Rory Kinnear, director of this year’s production of
Pelléas et Mélisande, reads from Maeterlinck’s essay,
interspersed with some of WB Yeats’ most lyrical responses
to the natural world.
