...Louis De Bernieres. Join us for a conversation with bestselling author Louis de Bernières, whose novel Captain Corelli’s Mandolin won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, Best Book in 1995. His most recent books are The Dust That Falls From Dreams, Birds Without Wings and A Partisan’s Daughter, Blue Dog a collection of stories, Notwithstanding, and two collections of poetry, Imagining Alexandria and Of Love and Desire.
Festival takes place 24th June - 1st July.

Tour of Southwold Lighthouse

Organised by: Southwold Millennium Foundation
Venue: Southwold Lighthouse, Stradbroke Road, Southwold IP18 6LW link
Tours of Southwold Lighthouse take place on selected dates between April and October and are organised by Southwold Millennium Foundation under licence from the Corporation of Trinity House. PLEASE NOTE minimum height requirement of 1.1 metres tall to climb the tower. Last tour today is at 3:30pm. NB-Please telephone in advance for group bookings of ten or more people.

Southwold Arts Festival 2017 - Clarinet Recital

Two local, professional musicians, Chris Allen and Geoff Lavery, formed a clarinet and piano duo in 2015 and we welcome them to Southwold after concerts at Aldeburgh, Wymondham Abbey and Framlingham College.

Listening to 'Mike d'Abo and his Mighty Quintet', audiences are guaranteed an entertaining evening of instantly familiar 60s and 70s nostalgia, performed with considerable energy and musical integrity.

With a pop pedigree dating back to 1966 Mike d'Abo and his band continue to delight audiences all over the world with their vast repertoire of hits. Apart from Mike's many hits with Manfred Mann ('Just Like A Woman', 'Fox On The Run', 'Pretty Flamingo' and 'The Mighty Quinn') he also composed such classics as 'Build Me Up Buttercup' and 'Handbags and Gladrags'.

A one-man variety extravaganza based around the best-selling comedy hit My Tutu Went AWOL! How Iestyn accidentally auditioned to drag his cod ballerina act out to Iraq and Afghanistan. Mascot to 42 Commando, MoD's bane!
Songs as sung for Her Majesty, comedy as clowned for Hippodrome aficionados, drag ballet as abruptly curtailed in Iraq by a front line, furious Royal Marines Commando.
