Portraits and Nudes in Paris 1900-1920. This talk links to the current Modigliani exhibition at Tate Modern.
Modigliani, Picasso and Matisse made the human figure a focus for their work. They used their relationship with the model to develop a new experience of the observer and the observed. Fiona Fitzgerald will examine how these artists totally reframed the art of seeing and relating.

Cinema @ The Cut - CHUNGKING EXPRESS (12)

Venue: The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth IP19 8BY link
Director Wong Kai-Wai, 1996, Hong Kong, 103 mins with Takeshi Kaneshiro, Brigitte Chin-Hsia Lin, Faye Wang, Tony Chin-Wai Leung.
The fascinating city of Hong Kong is at the very heart of this movie. Chungking Mansions is situated in Tsimshatsui, the tourist area, a vast complex of worldly delights. The atmosphere is frantic, over-crowded, full of possibilities and with many a story to tell, including the fate of two lovelorn cops whose lives briefly cross. It's art house material with more than a touch of John Luc Goddard and will appeal to all those film buffs who appreciate something different.
Ticket Details: Standard £5
