Cinema @ The Cut - VICTORIA & ABDUL (PG)

Venue: The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth IP19 8BY link
Director Stephen Frears, 2017, UK, 112 mins with Judi Dench, Ali Fazal, Eddie Izzard, Tim Pigott-Smith.
Once again national treasure Judi Dench plays Queen Victoria enthralled with a personable male servant. Sent from India to present her with a ceremonial coin, Abdul is quickly noticed by the Queen who is heard to comment "I thought the tall one was terribly handsome". In no time at all he is promoted to be her personal footman and eventually her spiritual guide. The facts may be a bit shaky but it's very entertaining nevertheless.
Ticket Details: Standard £5, Cinema members £4.
