Director Park Chan-wook, 2016, Korea, 167 mins with Kim Min-hee, Kim Tae-ri, Ha Jung-woo, Cho Jin-woong.
Based on Sarah Waters' novel Fingersmith this highly erotic thriller has exchanged Victorian London for Korea under Japanese rule in the 1930s. Everything about it is extreme from the intimacy of the sex to the acts of vengeance and betrayal. A handsome conman plans to trick a young heiress into marriage with the help of a handmaiden. What he hasn't bargained for is the fact that the two women share a powerful attraction to each other.
