Cinema @ The Cut - IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE (PG)

Venue: The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth IP19 8BY link
Director Wong Kar-wai, 2000, Hong Kong, 98 mins, with Maggie Cheung, Tony Leung, Rebecca Pan, Ping Lam Siu.
A film about love, betrayal, loss, loneliness, memory - all of these are addressed in this beautiful dream-like film set in an apartment in 1962 Hong Kong. Chow and Su Li-zhen are neighbours, both married and sharing the knowledge that their respective spouses are having an affair. Gradually the pair are drawn together as they attempt to negotiate the emotional dilemma facing them. The performances of the two leads, surely among the most stunning actors to grace the big screen, contribute enormously to the film's selection as second in the BBC's list of 100 Greatest Films of the 21stC.
Ticket Details: Standard £5, Cinema members £4.
