Hire A Guide At RSPB Minsmere

Book online - see below. Join our experienced guides for an exclusive half-day walk to explore Minsmere’s important habitats and discover some of the amazing wildlife found there. This is a tailormade walk for a group of up to four people, and our guides will try to accommodate specific requests from attendees, wherever possible. They are perfect for small groups of friends who wish to learn more about Minsmere together. For a larger group please see booking page below. Walk is not recommended for children under 8 years old. No dogs, except registered assistance dogs please. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars or ask at reception about loaning a pair for the day.

H.M.The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations at Walberswick

A day filled with competitions, games, cake, music, dancing and more. See local posters. Commemorative programme available today. Beginning with a Church Service at 10am in the ruins of St.Andrew's church, followed by a toast to H.M.The Queen and anniversary cake. At noon bring your picnic, chairs and rugs to the Village Green. At 12:30pm there is an address, with Maypole Dancing at 1:30pm. At 2pm the Parade of the Crowns takes place - a competition for 0-16 years old, and 17 years and over (make and wear your crown). Rumpus Ukulele Band follow. Additional competition to create A Picture Fit For A Queen for ages 5-10 years and 11-16 years. These to be received before noon on 4th June, judged and exhibited in the Village Hall.
At 3:15pm various Games On The Green for 0-6years, 7-10years, 11-16years, adults, including a Tug o' War.

Jubilee 1950s-inspired Big Picnic, at Wangford near Southwold

From lunchtime onwards at Wangford, near Southwold, there will be a Big Picnic and fun and games for all villagers at the Community Centre/Playing Field. Hopefully, the weather will be fine and sunny so bring a picnic blanket, chairs and your picnic supplies. Bar. Children will be offered a free soft drink. Tea and coffee available in the afternoon. Please do bring extra cakes or sandwiches to share or swap with friends and neighbours if you would like to do so.

JUBILEE FETE AND GARDEN PICNIC at Chediston, near Halesworth

Come and join us on the field by the school room in Chediston for an afternoon of Jubilee celebrations. Music by the Backwoods Band starts at 3:00pm. We also have a selection of retro games to have fun with. Please bring your own picnic and picnicware. Chairs and tables will be provided.
Parking is on the community field, with some disabled parking available in the church car park.
