Southwold Lighthouse provides a waymark for vessels navigating the east coast and guides vessels making for Southwold Harbour. On selected dates tours of Southwold Lighthouse are organised by Southwold Millennium Foundation under licence from the Corporation of Trinity House, take approximately 30 minutes, and are on the hour and half hour. To climb the tower there is a minimum height restriction of 1.1 metres tall.

Screened as part of Waveney & Blyth Arts Two River Book Festival. Adapted from a novel by Penelope Fitzgerald, narrated by Julie Christie, and set in 1950s Suffolk where Florence, a young widow, plans to open a bookshop. It soon becomes evident not everyone in the village welcomes the new venture and that Florence has a fight on her hands. Fortunately a reclusive bibliophile and an enthusiastic school girl are both determined to help her defeat the enemy.
