Howard Brenton's Bloody Poetry plunges us into a world of Romanticism, revolution and radicalism. The play opens with the meeting of the two most famous poets of the day, and therefore two of its biggest celebrities: Byron, notoriously ‘mad, bad and dangerous to know’ and Shelley, the rising star of the poetic world - both as famous for their tempestuous private lives as their blockbuster poetry. RoughCast's fast moving production brings out all the excitement, lyricism and wit of Brenton's modern masterpiece.
