Halesworth Walking for Health: Led Walk at SOUTHWOLD

Halesworth Walking 4 Health, part of OneLife Suffolk, the free healthy lifestyle service for the county are in your area offering free health walks. Our walks are available for those wanting to become more active, meet new people and explore our beautiful county. The health walks are led by trained volunteers and graded from 1 to 5 (1 being suitable for beginners, easy terrain and 5 being more challenging, including stiles and/or a faster pace.) There is no need to book in advance for a health walk, you can just turn up but please arrive 15 minutes ahead of the start time when attending your first walk to register. Todays walk, meet at The Harbour Inn car park, Southwold, for a 3-mile grade 2/3 walk.

Fiona Fitzgerald : MAGDALENE ODUNDO

CERAMICS AND IDENTITY IN LATE 20TH CENTURY BRITAIN. Magdalene Odundo breaks down barriers between worlds. She is British and Kenyan, artist and curator, and combines art with pottery. Fiona FitzGerald will examine the art world that Odundo entered in the 1970s and how she developed an identity that connected her origins with a sensitivity for global cultures.
This talk connects to the exhibition, MAGDALENE ODUNDO: THE JOURNEY OF THINGS, at the Sainsbury Centre, Norwich.

Tour of Southwold Lighthouse

Southwold Lighthouse provides a waymark for vessels navigating the east coast and guides vessels making for Southwold Harbour. On selected dates tours of Southwold Lighthouse are organised by Southwold Millennium Foundation under licence from the Corporation of Trinity House, take approximately 30 minutes, and are on the hour and half hour. To climb the tower there is a minimum height restriction of 1.1 metres tall.
Ticket Details: Adult £4, Child 16 years and under £3, Family of 2 adults + up to 3 children £12. CASH ONLY PLEASE.

Cinema @ The Cut - WOMAN OF THE DUNES (15)

An entomologist wanders among the dunes in search of rare insects and, having missed the last bus, stays overnight with a young widow whose tumbledown shack is at the bottom of a pit. When he wakes in the morning the rope ladder he used to descend has been removed, leaving him trapped. What follows is a weird, dreamlike allegory with exceptional black and white imagery accompanied by a haunting soundtrack. Winner of a special jury prize at Cannes and nominated for two Oscars.
