Join the Ranger for a guided walk exploring the rich and varied wildlife of Dunwich Heath. Discover more about this special coastal landscape and the unique plant and animal species which thrive in this increasingly rare habitat. Children welcome. Every Tuesday and Sunday. For babies and toddlers of all ages. If fine weather we are outside in the garden, if wet and/or cold then indoors. Instruments, clapping, jogging and action rhymes.
Model yacht sailing has been taking place in Southwold for over 100 years. A tremendously fun and absorbing activity which is very easy to get the hang of. People of all ages and abilities can join in. Anyone is welcome to come and have a go – we can even lend you a boat for the day and show you what to do.
This afternoon a regular programme of races followed by the Family Relay Race, in which four boats of the same ‘fleet’ (ie owned by the same family) sail one leg each, as well as the Quincentenary Salver for Beach Yawls, which is for sailors of any age but only sailing a Beach Yawl (which is a rather unusual East Anglian boat rig). Next Regatta 6th August.
Ticket Details: No club membership requirement. Entry £1 per boat (cash only). Boats can be borrowed for £1.
